We Can Do Hard Things

July 13, 2026

Welcome Back Sierra Rams!

Dear Sierra Families,

Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year!

I hope you and your family have had a wonderful, restful summer. On behalf of our entire Sierra K-8 staff, I am excited to welcome both our returning families and those joining our school community for the first time. At Sierra K-8, we are committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where every student can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. We believe that education is a true partnership between home and school, and we deeply value your involvement in your child’s learning journey. Together, we can ensure that every student feels supported, challenged, and inspired to reach their full potential.

As we prepare for the first day of school, I would like to share a few important reminders:

  • Meet the Teacher Night: Join us on Monday, July 27, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet your child's teacher, visit classrooms, and prepare for a successful school year.
  • Middle School Schedules: All middle school students (grades 6-8) must be fully registered before schedules can be released. If you have not completed registration, please do so as soon as possible to avoid delays.
  • Transportation Form for K-5 Students: To help ensure a safe and smooth dismissal each day, families of students in Kindergarten through 5th grade are asked to complete this Transportation Form. The Transportation Form indicating how your child will be going home each day. This information helps us safely account for every student during dismissal.
  • Arrival Time: Please note that our arrival time has been moved up 5 minutes earlier to begin our day at 8:30 which means the first bell will ring at 8:25, giving students 5 minutes to arrive to class on time.
  • Dismissal Time: Our dismissal schedule has changed to ONE dismissal time for both elementary and middle school and more information will be forthcoming regarding pick up areas for your children, We encourage families to arrive on time for dismissal and to communicate any transportation changes with the front office before the end of the school day whenever possible. Below are the dismissal times: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday: 3:10 p.m. and Wednesday: 1:15 p.m.
  • School Supply Lists and Uniform Information-This has been shared on our Facebook page, please be sure to follow us. It will also be available in paper form at Meet Your Teacher Night.

We can't wait to welcome our students back to campus and begin another year of learning. Thank you for being a part of the Sierra K-8 family! We look forward to seeing you soon.

In Service,

Mrs. Encinas, Principal

Cell Phone Policy (House Bill 2484):
The law requires school districts and charter schools to limit student access to cell phones, with exceptions for emergencies, educational purposes directed by a teacher, and for students with medical conditions. Students will be allowed to use phones before school, at lunch, and after school only. We thank you in advance for your support and cooperation as we implement this important policy to help maintain a focused and respectful learning environment.

Stay Connected with Sierra K-8 Through ParentSquare

Important Parent Communication Update
Sierra K-8 is no longer using ClassDojo as our primary communication platform. Beginning this school year, all school and classroom communication will be sent through ParentSquare.
We encourage all families to download the ParentSquare app and activate their account as soon as possible. ParentSquare allows you to receive important school announcements, event reminders, emergency notifications, and classroom updates in one convenient place. You can also communicate directly with your child's teacher and school staff through the app.
Staying connected through ParentSquare will help ensure you never miss important information throughout the school year. Thank you for your partnership and continued support as we transition to our new communication platform
